Ed McHugh

Ed was a long time member of the Club. He was very well liked and will be missed. He was a regular fixture at the Asbury Club layout's Wilkes Barre section.

Edward Anthony McHugh, died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at home with his loving wife, Anne of 48 years by his side. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 6, 1940, the eldest son to the late Anthony and Marie McHugh. He later moved to Aberdeen, NJ where he and Anne raised their four daughters.

Edward had a love of music, cooking, gardening and model trains. He was a member of the Garden State Central Model Railroad Club. He will be remembered by many as the nice man with the beautiful gardens. Along with his other interests he enjoyed his family, especially his 10 grandchildren, Bryce, Jennifer, Gavin, Connor, Spenser, Deaglan, Kate, Olivia, Craig and Tommy. For years, his backyard has been known as Camp-Run-A-Muk by his many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Anne (Maguire) McHugh; his daughters, Maryrose and Tony Cutrino of Haddonfield, Katrina and John McPherson of Baltimore, MD, Anne and Young Nam of Denver, CO, and Tara and Joseph Cassidy of Little Silver.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at St. Benedict R.C. Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. In lieu of sending flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in memory of Edward McHugh to the VNA Hospice. The love and care the hospice team showed the McHugh family will never be forgotten.
